Lighting is there so faces read clearly and the room feels like the event you planned. It is operated with the programme, from speeches to a band or a dance floor.
What each kind of light is for
Ambient and effect light
Colour and movement for a dance floor, a show segment, or a moment in the programme. It follows cues. It is not left as a single unchanged look unless that is what you asked for.
Uplighting
Light up walls or columns where the venue allows it, so a hall reads as part of the event instead of a bare function room. Some sites restrict where stands can go. Tell us if the venue has already said so.
With the sound, not instead of it
Lighting does not fix a quiet PA. If the night has both, we quote them together and run them as one job. Sound is described on the sound systems page.
What helps the quote
A photo of the stage, the rough width, and whether the ceiling is low or the event is outdoors is enough to start. Say if a band is bringing its own lights, and if there is a strict load-in window. We do not need a lighting plot from you.
The quote says what we will bring for that date and how it will be run with the programme.
What to send for a quote
Include lighting in the same WhatsApp message as the sound. The contact checklist still applies.

- ✓Sound, lighting, live band or LED screen needs
- ✓Results from our planning tools, if you used them
If you already know them, also say when the room can be loaded in, whether the programme is speeches, music, a live band or a mix, and whether a screen is part of the show.

- Do I need to choose fixture models?
- No. Tell us the room, the programme and the look you want people to see. We propose the lighting in the quote.
- Is the lighting left running unattended?
- Lighting is operated with the programme: looks for speakers, a band, or a dance floor, as agreed for that event.
- Can lighting be added to a sound-only enquiry?
- Yes. Say so in the same message. One quote can cover sound, lighting and, if you need it, screen support. The price is still for that job only.
